Forced Air De-Icing

Forced Air De-Icing systems are available on the Elephant^® Beta-15, Elephant^® Beta, Elephant^® Gamma
Elephant^® My and Elephant^® Sigma de-icing units

The Forced Air De-Icing system provides a valuable supplement to conventional aircraft de-icing, as it introduces a snow removal procedure prior to de-icing fluid being applied by the same de-icing unit. Thereby a significant amount of ADF can be saved, giving both environmental benefits and cost savings.

Important parameters
As air speed drops significantly with increased distance from the nozzle, and as the Forced Air system effectiveness also depends on air flow and pressure, it is imperative to keep a short distance to the fuselage. All the Elephant^® de-icers facilitate the shortest possible gap (3-5‘) between the highly manoeuvrable nozzle and the surfaces to be treated on the aircraft.
